In 2000, the Daytona was completely manufactured, equipped with a fully in-house chronograph movement, which was a long-cherished wish of Rolex.
Although the basic design inherits the design of the previous model (Ref.16520), it has been brushed up in detail, such as changing the layout of the in-dial and enlarging the index due to the change in the installed movement.
The equipped movement, Caliber 4130, boasts a power reserve of 72 hours due to its high transmission efficiency, and has achieved high durability and precision, such as the use of a Parachrom balance spring, which has excellent antimagnetic properties, since its debut. From 2007, it has been changed to the independently developed Blue Parachrom hairspring, which has improved anti-magnetism and shock resistance. In addition, the rational design that considers maintainability has earned high praise from engineers.
